Description The After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) was developed to create opportunities for peer learning among children of diverse backgrounds and different learning styles in a fun and engaging environment. Peer learning is enhanced by integrating Oak Hill School students, their siblings and other children from general education programs in well-guided artistic and recreational activities. ASEP activities are designed to expand social, expressive and intellectual capacities of the participants, who range in age from six to eighteen years old. In Oak Hill
School School’s ASEP, skilled professional staff structure
and pace activities such as Yoga, Creative Movement & Music, Adaptive
Theater Workshop, Outdoor/Indoor Recreation and Teen-Nites. Our program
is staffed with trained therapists and instructors to ensure
that children developing typically and those with special needs participate
fully and enjoy each other. Student service volunteers
from local middle and high schools provide additional social interactions
and peer role modeling for our special needs children.
