Oak Hill School’s Annual Fund is one of our most important fundraising initiatives because it is vital in helping us bridge the gap between what we receive in tuition and the costs associated with delivering our highly regarded program. This year our board is offering a dollar for dollar match for donations received before December 31, 2014. Join us in doubling the impact of your donation.

Oak Hill School of California is a 501(c)(3) organization, IRS Section 170(b)(2)(iii), and is exempt from both federal and state taxes. Our federal tax identification number is 94-3359599. All donations are tax exempt to the full extent of the law.
Oak Hill School is a model public-private partnership in the field of autism and related developmental differences. Over 12 years ago, five families came together to create a therapeutic educational environment for their children that they were not able to find anywhere else. A complete wrap around support system for each individual child was formed to allow students to become active and flexible learners. They not only accomplished this goal for their own children, but they were able to create a vibrant school that currently serves 35 families largely funded through school districts throughout the Bay Area. Oak Hill provides a lab setting for teachers and therapists training in relationship-based methods.
Your investment in Oak Hill is the lifeline for our students and families, many of whom failed in other school environments. At Oak Hill School, students are given the support needed to access their academics and develop skills for independent living. The cost of our program is not covered by tuition alone and we rely on donors like you to help us continue to transform the lives of children with developmental differences.
A great way to donate, without interrupting your personal cash flow, is to donate from your investment portfolio. A charitable gift of appreciated stock or mutual fund assets provides an opportunity for tax savings while supporting The Oak Hill School.
When you donate stock or mutual fund shares you have held for more than one year, you may be able to deduct the full current market value of the investment on your tax return and avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated value. These rules allow for the “doubling up,” so to speak, of tax benefits: a charitable deduction, plus avoiding tax on the appreciation in value of the donated property.
To qualify, you will have to itemize your deductions and there are some limits to how much you can deduct. For example, charitable deductions of appreciated property to The Oak Hill School are limited to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income. Other restrictions may apply but most people can take advantage of this tax wise way to give.
As with all tax-related issues, there are always details to consider that relate to your particular situation. Please consult with your tax adviser or financial planner for additional information, restrictions, and requirements. Information is also available at the IRS website www.irs.gov see Publication 526 “charitable contributions
If you have any questions on the stock donation process, please contact Michael Reilly at (415) 457-7601, or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your generous support of our school.
