We held our Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 20th and what a night it was. We had the largest turnout from families we have ever had. Seventy percent of our families attended that evening, and that says a lot considering many had to drive between 1 - 2 hours, one way, to get there! In addition to having every teacher, therapist, and administrator there, we had all of the Teaching Assistants attend for the first time. We started the evening with a presentation and update on our UCSF/Oak Hill Outcome Study, presented by Tracy Warren. (Read the UCSF entry for a summary of that presentation).

Next, we broke up into Classrooms and Therapies, where parents were able to learn about their child’s educational curriculum and therapy program, as well as got to know the other parents in their student’s classroom. Every parent I spoke to was very happy that they attended, and said it was the best Back to School Night they had ever attended.
